YOUNG ATOM OPTICIANS CONFERENCE 2024 will be happening in Strasbourg from June 30th to July 5th, 2024.

June 12th to 16th 2023, Barcelona

The Young Atom Opticians conference (YAO) is an annual meeting aimed at young PhD and master students in the field of atomic and molecular physics. Its goal is to provide participants with a platform to learn from and extend their network with peers from around the world.

YAO 2023 conference is arranged by PhD students from ICFO and will take place in Barcelona from June 12th to 16th 2023.

Registration closed on April 17.

Maximum number of participants is 120 due to auditorium limitations. The spots will be given on a first come, first served basis.

  • Approximately 440€ standard fee for the rest of the participants.
  • Approximately 240€ for participants who do not want accommodation.

The registration fee covers the accommodation with breakfast, lunches in the nearby cafeteria and the conference dinner.

Moreover, we plan to offer grants covering participants’ fees for participants without funding from their institution.

ICFO is a research centre of excellence with research lines that encompass diverse areas in which photonics plays a decisive role.

The included accommodation will be in the Hotel SB BCN Events in 2 person bedrooms. It is a 10 minutes walk to ICFO or 1 stop by bus (E95 or L95) and around 25 minutes to the beach by foot.

We plan to split the rooms by gender. If you wish to share a room with a specific person, you can indicate this at a later point, together with the contact information for the conference fee wire transfer.
